La Paz, Bolivia: Day 1

English: Wow, wow, and wow! I have never seen such a beautiful, diverse country in my life (although this is my first country being visited, this is truly amazing). Our (A few friends and I) got into La Paz, Bolivia around 5:00am, and we got to the hotel (Hostal Naira) around 6:00-6:15am the same morning. The girls that I was with and I CRASHED until breakfast, which was around 8:00am.

We had an amazing breakfast that our Professor took care of (Hallelujah). After breakfast, we went straight to sleep until it was time to meet up with the rest of the class (including our professor and our guide) and this was around noon.

During the walk, I took GREAT pictures.

We had a "Welcome Lunch" at Angelo Colonial where we went over logistics of the program (emergency evacuation plan, manners and customs, health and safety, Bolivian greetings, etc.

We then visited "Museo de la Coca" where we learned about the history, cultural, and medical aspects of the coca leaf. I picked up a few postcards and some coca leaves as well! On this museum tour we went to several different locations where we broadened our knowledge of the coca leaf:

Visiting this museum was very interesting because I got to experience many answers and concepts for my research paper: Bolivian Public Health (Access to Health Care, Water Sanitation, and the Medicinal Usages of the Coca Leaf). 

After this, the group did a little street shopping until we got to the witches market and the Textile Co-op (shout out to Ron and Dianne for such an amazing presentation).

After we finished hearing the wonderful things about the Textile Co-op, and how it helps the Bolivian community in numerous ways, the group was let go for "free time". This was very exhilarating for me, as I was extremely hungry. The crew and I hung out at the hotel for beers; I, on the other hand, had a wonderful cup of coca tea (yum).

We went to "Cafe del Mundo" for dinner where we all bonded and had an amazing experience truly getting to know each other.

Spanish: ¡Guau, guau, y guau! Nunca he visto un país hermoso, diverso en mi vida (aunque este es mi primer país que está siendo visitado, esto es realmente asombroso). Nuestro (algunos amigos y yo) entramos en La Paz, Bolivia alrededor de las 5:00 am, y llegamos al hotel (Hostal Naira) alrededor de 6: 00-6: 15am la misma mañana. Las chicas con las que estuve y me golpearon hasta el desayuno, que era alrededor de las 8:00 am. Tuvimos un desayuno increíble que nuestro profesor se encargó de (Aleluya). Después del desayuno, nos fuimos directamente a dormir hasta que era hora de reunirse con el resto de la clase (incluyendo nuestro profesor y nuestro guía) y esto era alrededor del mediodía. Durante el paseo, tomé grandes fotografías. Tuvimos un "almuerzo de bienvenida" en Angelo Colonial donde pasamos la logística del programa (plan de evacuación de emergencia, costumbres y costumbres, salud y seguridad, saludos bolivianos, etc. Luego visitamos el Museo de la Coca donde aprendimos sobre la historia, aspectos culturales y médicos de la hoja de coca. Recogí algunas postales y algunas hojas de coca también! En esta gira museística fuimos a varios lugares diferentes donde ampliamos nuestro conocimiento de la hoja de coca:

Visitar este museo fue muy interesante porque tuve la oportunidad de experimentar muchas respuestas y conceptos para mi trabajo de investigación: Salud Pública Boliviana (Acceso a la Salud, Saneamiento del Agua y Usos Medicinales de la Hoja de Coca). Después de esto, el grupo hizo una pequeña compra de la calle hasta que llegamos al mercado de brujas y la Cooperativa de Textil (gritar a Ron y Dianne para una presentación tan increíble). Después de que terminamos de escuchar las cosas maravillosas de la Cooperativa Textil, y de cómo ayuda a la comunidad boliviana de muchas maneras, el grupo fue liberado por "tiempo libre". Esto fue muy estimulante para mí, ya que estaba muy hambriento. La tripulación y yo estuvimos en el hotel para las cervezas; Yo, por otro lado, tenía una maravillosa taza de té de coca (yum). Fuimos a "Cafe del Mundo" para la cena donde todos unidos y tuvimos una experiencia increíble realmente llegar a conocer unos a otros. Estoy listo para el día 2 !!!!! ¿Eres tú?
